Whoa. Delicate flower, as they say. The credit quant and his ~200 page algo proposition wasn't since he didn't have to convince anyone.
I have run across a lot of Lehman snowflakes. They are REALLY defensive at the drop of a hat. And I even kept running into them seeping out of Barclays... and some of them were my friends, too. They were all traumatized but never quite seemed to accept that nothing was unfair about what happened.
As for crypto, the irony here is, it is an excellent candidate for your kind of analysis. Hard to say how successful it might ever be. But if nothing else, it throws into relief just how murky/complex (if not futile) crypto analysis/strategy is.
Also, it is a hope that the quantity of analysis turns into quality. Still, a much better approach than what everyone else is doing: just "make shit up".
