Now, exactly who is driving any of this and what motives are behind it are just irrelevant speculation. You have a group of people who genuinely have no idea what they're doing (except for a small few, perhaps) and are pulled along by a crowd, hype and some ulterior imperative: be part of the movement, stick it to the man, take on the system, etc.

Like all MLMs, the reckoning will come and the vast majority of losers (which is generally the vast majority) will have to hide their stupidity or blame it on somebody, anybody but themselves.
