So your suggestion would mean:

1) Just defeat Japan and leave Europe to the Nazis.

2) If Hitler and Stalin came to a renewed agreement, then the world could have been divided up between them.

...or, alternatively...

1) Get the Hitler thing out of the way

2) Let the USSR remain and not just run Eastern Europe, let it have Western Europe, too, along with whatever other parts of the world it was after.

Right?
