Once again, Patrick delivers a pretty reasonable view of things. And, once again, I have to pick on those parts that I think are misguided.
First of all, history is always a good place to reference for precedents to a current phenomenon that parallels it. In this case, referencing Nazi Germany and Hitler’s “scorched earth” policies is a wildly inappropriate parallel to the US government’s potential approach to cryptocurrency regulation. Please, Patrick, resist using history in your posts or learn to apply what is appropriate. Think before you cite. I appreciate it that you’re even aware of it, but this application of it is quite frankly grotesque.
As for the rest of the article, I really appreciate it that you finally seem to acknowledge that BTC and other such “decentralized” crypto are not even remotely currencies and, rather, are primarily platforms for the exchange of illicit and harmful goods and services.
