Ok. let's start with this remark at the end of this posting:
“In a section titled “Western Bias & Chinese Fear” Ryan wrote that he believes that China is just as likely to emerge as a dominant player in the crypto economy as it is to become a ticking time bomb that actually threatens it. At least Selkis admits to his bias. We’ve found that the more time we spend in Asia, and China in particular, the more we’re impressed with their knowledge and abilities. We don’t have our heads in the sand regarding Chinese atrocities, but we believe that the U.S. government is a far greater threat to crypto than China.”
Now let's add some color:
China accounts for at least 66% of PoW mining. It also accounts for more than 90% of ASIC and Rig design and manufacture.
In the real world, this is called CENTRALIZATION.
Also, in the real world, if China was not a totalitarian political system and believed in post-enlightenment ideas of human liberty and social fairness as realized in democratic institutions, this might not be such a big problem.
So you have to ask yourself which is more important: is the U.S. government's "threat" to crypto more important or is the threat of Chinese approach to human rights and liberal democracy more important? Crypto or human liberty? Which do you choose?
