Here it is, another sad piece of Americana. In a country that lives of the vapors of fame and jacked-up promotion and get-rich-quick... it's no wonder the USA already in an increasing number of social and economic metrics qualifies as a developing country rather than a developed one.

Hordes of hucksters selling get-rich-quick or magic formulas for paving your way to wealth. It makes sense: education is becoming a costly privelege, everyone is one-illness or accident away from permanent indigence, people spend their time looking for any and every promotion and there are vast and ever-increasing numbers of get-rich-quick hucksters.

And along comes crypto and sneakers.

Yes, "alternative" investments are indeed thriving and becoming deeply rooted in a culture that ceases to improve itself and leaves that task to the vast and increasing army of hucksters.
