Who cares where it came from? I have my own views, but at this moment the real question that matters has an answer:
WHO CONTROLS BITCOIN AND WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
The controller of not just BTC, but all PoW cryptocurrencies is The People's Republic of China and its leader Shi Jinping.
The Knight says "Nobody owns bitcoin, it is decentralized".
Well, the strict definition of "decentralized" is the game theoretic Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance, right?
If that's what it is (and it is), then PRC controls the whole stack:
1. Mining more than 2/3's of BTC and more of some others.
2. Controlling north of 94% of mining rig manufacturers and a similar percentage of the ASICs to do the mining.
The hilarious (tragic really) situation is that the whole notion of a decentralized world of amateurs running PCs or maybe suped up Raspberry Pi's (LOL) were going to keep this from being controlled by any government or group of people.
As we all know pretty well, The People's Republic of China is extremely good at controlling things, good, bad, indifferent and doesn't hesitate to do so: whether that be a COVID outbreak or 2 giant distinct ethnic groups (Tibetan and Uighur). And, most of all, its own people: Prison and fines await any Chinese citizen who transacts any crypto-currency or even possesses and account on an exchange where that's possible.
What are Shi's intentions with this control? Well, he's a very straightforward chap: Undermine the dollar reserve currency in order to disrupt and undermine the world order currently being mostly dominated by (albeit imperfect) the human rights watchdogs of Western Liberal Democracies.
China wants the reorder this arrangement in its favor and dispose of that nasty idea of human rights and personal freedom.
Once Crypto is deep enough in the western corporate treasuries (see Tesla, Twitter, Microstrategy, Paypal, etc.) and comprising a significant component of the investments of US and European citizens and banks.... pull the plug, so to speak, and havoc reigns and the western liberal democratic order is instantly (nearly) undermined and there is only one place of refuge: The Chinese giant economy and its currency the Digital Renminbi.
Think about it. Not some Hobbit in the past.
