All Mutual Fund managers use attribution models (PCA, etc.) that are purely statistical and as a rule are at best cursorily familiar with the businesses and industries they invest in.

Using index funds is exactly the same game. The only difference is they weight by value and not by attribute.

So, keep getting lucky or really put the work in and make and keep money.
